The story of a ten-year-old boy who arrives at an isolated farm inhabited by two women, Elena, aged 22, and her grandmother Kalsan. A scrap of fabric which little Mirka takes out of his rucksack greatly disturbs both women; Kalsan believes it to be the cloth used to clothe her granddaughter Elenas son, the result of a rape at the hands of soldiers she suffered aged 14, during the civil war, which divided the country in two, separating friends and families and causing one people to fight against another. This was the child of humiliation, born of ethnic cleansing, which her grandmother had taken away from Elena at his birth and entrusted to a family in another town.
