At "The Seagull", a house with a weathercock, built outside a Northers town, live Agustin, a doctor and water diviner; Julia, his wife, a school teacher who lost her job after the Civil War, and Estrella, their daughter. The film, with great simplicity, tells the story of Estrella´s growth and the fascination she feels for her father. One day by sheer hazard, Estrella discovers something that will lead her to suspect that in her father´s live, there has been another woman. From that day onwards, life at "The Seagull" will change. But Estrella will never learn - not even during the last conversation she, already a teen-ager, holds with her father - the true identity of the women who, as her father knows, has definitely remained in the south.
